If you happen to find this post, you might be wondering what good is it to look at my very first post. Well… it is about stating what my intent is at the very start of my blogging journey. That intent is to take what I’ve personally learned and applied to my own life as an artist and designer, whether it is from books or supplies or life experience, and keep it here as a log for myself and others.
I’ve always been annoyed at the prevalence of blog posts that distill books or concepts into such short and shallow posts. I’m someone who loves to collect information and draw on it when the need comes. Knowing where to find things. Having a deep understanding of something. Or, knowing where to find out to get a deeper understanding. The purpose of this blog and then posts within it are to bring you a more in-depth review and look at books and concepts that I have found to be massively undersupplied.
Topics that can be found in art books, older art books in particular (since I don’t know how much there is new taught in newer art books, but maybe just differently?). Unique topics in architecture, resources for architecture and design, among other themes that I find interesting.
So, basically I’ve decided to take on the task myself.
From here on I expect things to be sporadic at first, and then smooth out as I find methods of formatting and creating more easily digestible content. As of this post, I already have a few books that need to be summarized and brought here.
Thank you for taking the time to read my purpose statement for my journey here, and I hope by the time you’re reading this you’ve already found at least a little bit of value in what I have contributed.
